Family, food and fun

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my twin brother's house. The buffet menu included: turkey, potatoes, gravy, carrots, stuffing, red jello salad, glorified fruit salad and a spinach salad. Kringla and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Giving thanks for volunteers

Most of the representatives from 27 community charities gathered after receiving grant checks at the Eagan Rotary lunch meeting. The proceeds totaled $30,000 raised by the Rotarians' annual gala event held each February.

Wonder if any of these 3 food places stay open long enough for a late night snack along Cliff Road?

Sunset on Cedar Ave

The view out the car window while my wife drove south on Highway 77 into Eagan was spectacular. This iPhone photo doesn't do it justice.  See other Skywatch Friday meme participants here.

Honored heros

The Eagan Rotary Club recognized three local veterans during their weekly lunch meeting on Wednesday at the Eagan Community Center. On the left, Rev. Al Pruis served with the army in Vietnam in 1970 - 1972. John Connelly traveled the Pacific to Japan during WWII from 1944 - 1946.  William Swanstrom sailed for 2 tours to Vietnam in 1966 - 1972.

Early Eaganites

This original farmhouse built in 1917, sits in the middle of a residential neighborhood near Eagan's Target store next to Cliff Lake. Back then, Eagan Township's population comprised of about 1,000 townspeople. Today, Minnesota's 9th largest city has 64,206 citizens.

Unbelievable price!

It was surprising to fill up my car with gas priced under $3.00! How much is gas where you live?

Fall clean-up

These three cheery fellows paused long enough for a quick photo on frigid Tuesday morning. Then they continued with the yard work around the Oak Cliff Place office building.

Pre-Thanksgiving sales

Cub Foods off Cliff Road seems to be first in line for Christmas wreath promotion! Isn't that a little early? What do you think?

A day late...

Timing is everything sometimes. The maple trees were magnificent but a day later many of the leaves had already fallen.

Whose vehicle?

I wonder who was shopping at the Cliff Lake Centre strip mall and left their ride triple parked?!
